Something Familiar

This installation piece is an exploration into how simple and benign objects transform into something more personal; both enforcing and transcending their original purpose. Precariously stacked on top of each other in the Jannotta Gallery, these objects enhance the feelings that emphasize the power gravity has on some of these fragile objects. The piece creates a sense of urgency to protect and care for these possessions. Something Familiar both reminds and reminisces on moments that have passed despite the lack of personal connection on the viewers part. Memories are fleeting but emotions will continue to transcend time.
